Nowadays handheld devices comes in all shapes and sizes. Typically, though, most people think of a handheld organizer as having a touchscreen, some sort of text input capability, and wireless internet connectivity. Of course, handhelds can add or subtract from that formula. For a handheld device to have organizer functionality, most people would expect it to have a calendar/datebook, contact list, memos and task applications. Some portable organizers will even go as far as having spreadsheet, word processor, and database applications. Of course, many mobile devices now also include email, web browsing, twitter, instant messaging, etc. in their internet application suite. Oh, and we must not forget those app stores and websites where enterprising companies and hobbiests alike can produce and sell whatever application they think might be important for enhancing your handheld experience.
